I thought greedy corporations would prefer to pay low rather than market value?

Hmm liberals

Not sure if bait, but market value includes the size of the labor pool. Positions that require more education and other upfront costs to obtain pay more because the labor pool is smaller relative to the number of openings, so workers are in better positions to negotiate. Positions with larger reserve pools of labor pay less because people are more easily replaced and are less able to demand better working conditions without unionizing.

You're using logic and that's basically racist!

I need $35/hr for my McJob, school was for nerds!

Also, the issue isn't with companies paying less than "market value" (they do pay market value, taking into account the aforementioned reserve labor supply) but rather paying workers less than the value of their labor, which they do to maintain and increase rates of profit.

The value of the labor is the wage that is set by the market and then agreed upon by the two parties. Otherwise no one would be employed because there would be no reason to risk your capital in a business venture that doesn't return anything.
