This is the Vita version! Released in 2015 in Japan and Asia only. Figured it would be a nice thing to celebrate the Vita's 7th anniversary in Japan.

The special part of this Taiko game is a RPG mode where you outfit your drum with various equipment and weapons (lifted directly from Tales games. Same company, I guess, but still) and fight monsters by playing through the songs. This is the one game that has Falcom tracks in it (Ys II and Cold Steel openings) so both Adol and Rean appear as specials that you can use to do 50 damage to an opponent.

There's only one difficult trophy in the game, and it's why it took me a long time to finish - to clear 25 Oni tracks. Luckily, clearing a song on both regular and shin-uchi modes counts as two songs cleared, so only 13 songs need to be finished. It's still a difficult task as V Version Oni songs start at 6* and you'll need to clear some 7*s (or higher) to finish this one off. In comparison, the recent PS4 game has Oni tracks starting at 2* and there's even a DLC song which has a 1* Oni track. I was only able to clear seven of them when I played it back in 2015, but after playing the PS4 version for a while I managed to come back to this and finish off another six to complete it.

This is my second rhythm game platinum this month, and I'm not done yet! Time to tackle those Persona games for my next few platinums.
