It's believable because he's one of the most powerful men in the business, in the position to do such a thing, and actors/actresses sleeping with producers and other higher ups is a regular occurrence in the field.

Meryl Streep, the closest thing to film royalty that Hollywood has, once joked about Weinstein being God. Going back to the beginning of the film industry, everyone's known about the so-called casting couch and its lure of riches and fame, but people still acted shocked when actresses came forward recently with their accusations of various film moguls.
