I don't mean how it effects you socially right now, I just mean estimating height.

Like most people under or overshoot by up to five inches. I'm exactly 5'10.8" normally, 6'1.7" in my winter boots per my last doctor's visit two weeks ago, regular visit every month, always starts with height and weight.

It seems that everyone I meet has some insanely skewed sense of height unless they also have medical issues or work in medical fields. Girls almost as tall as me/taller (in heels or not) who think they're "about 5'7, 5' 9 in heels" guys shorter than me without shoes "pushing maybe 6'1, 6'2" "

Like just what.

Measurements can change based on how straight someone stands. Some people might puff up their chests and stick their neck as straight up as they can to get a bit of extra height while some will just stand there at ease.

I get my height and weight done every month because I've had three brain tumors, along with other chronic conditions. Not because I'm sensitive about my height.

Also it can vary slightly. Spinal compression during the day can cause a temporary(and generally very slight) loss of height(usually about a centimeter or less)

I think its just a symptom of dudes trying not to sound short. Every 510 dude pretends hes 6 so we all just get bumped up a few inches in peoples mind.

And normally people dont measure themselves constantly with every different pair of shoes because thats weird.

I get that all the time too, to the point of making me question my own height. lol

I'm 6'5". I say 6'5". At this height, there's no need to add anything. If I let people guess my height, the response is usually 6'6" - 6'8", that may have something to do with being near 300 lbs. with broad shoulders, and less body fat than one would expect from someone of that weight.

I guess that makes sense for guys. Most people can't really calculate height well, plus a lot of guys give themselves that extra 2" or count shoes Into their height.

It seems like girls do the dramatic opposite until they're like 5'2" or less.
