Day 4 deliberations have been great so far. I don't foresee myself getting fatigued this year even with the long run times because it's only two days of deliberations, so that's good.

I'm very excited to see today's video as well. I love when the crew reacts to older Gamespot stuff.

I haven't started the final category today yet but I'm wondering if this going to be one of those Game Awards things where Red Dead wins nearly every category it's in but doesn't actually win Best Game.

If it was, there is something to be said for a game that does individual things very well, but can't pull it together. Which I feel describes Red Dead very well. It's a beautiful game which has a deep story and great music, but it is NOT a fun game to play.

Red Dead seems to be the big spoiler game of this year's deliberations. I was able to skip only about 10 minutes of both days and avoid all God Of War talk, but the Red Dead stuff is throughout.

I haven't listened to Best Game but I feel like most of the narrative stuff has been discussed already.

Destiny was a near-broken shell with potential marred by a story that made no sense and almost no content. RDR2 is a masterful story and world that is visually and aurally incredible, with gameplay issues.

Also Most Disappointing has peak Brad. And Dan becomes a Brad.

There's pretty much nothing that can be done to make RDR2 a worse game in my eyes. It was tailor made to make me hate everything about it. Jeff wishes he was as anti Red Dead as I am!

The SURPRISE at the awful controls is honestly a little baffling because Rockstar has never made a game with good gameplay except for, I assume, Table Tennis.

Destiny at least has really solid shooting. I don't even like that game, but I'd rather put 20 hours into it than 4 into Red Dead.

I am the guy who never once wandered the world in MGSV unless forced. I called the copter IMMEDIATELY after every mission, because menus are better than wandering a game world.

No amount of incredible story telling can save RDR2 from the fact that it's a huge open world with way too much shit to do. I want a guided experience. Tell me what to do in a game. I don't ever want to be riding down a dirt road on a horse.

Give me RDR2 where the missions are selectable from a menu DMC style and maybe I would consider it.

Also cowboys suck.

Also people are callig you out on saying it's this years DEstiny. Which is stupid initself. RDR2 had some polarising opinions of the extreme. DEstiny was widely renowned as an average game that only Brad truly loved. So it's not even close to being Destiny.

Back when DEstiny came out the only Air time it got on GOTY podcasts was wetehr it shoudl be in top 10 or not. Noone talked about it's story or an other thing realted to it.

Having said that RDR2 barely makes my top 10

Anyway as for the list the top kind of fell together by default.

I'd swap 1 and 2 around and even put the number 3 as no.1 because for me God of war is the best game by a mile and Dead Cells is nuber 2.

The best thing about this year was how less annoying Abby was. She was unbearable last year with "cuphead should be higher" toppled with a garbage game(PUBG) winning it it wastheir worst GOTY deliberations period.

This one was a lot better. The top 2 kind of fell into the top 2 by default. The most passionate games were obviously Gow and RDR2

I feel if either RDR2 or GoW had 1 person swaying the other way around it would have taken the no.1

I Also agree with the guy who said he was annoyed about Brad not plaing more of other games this year. Fair enough to Jeff I don't agree with 90% of things he says or his opinions on games but the guy knows what he likes and gives some games a chance and plays them. Brad plays a bunch of games never completes them and doesnt even say i didnt' liek them but i didn't play much of it. Instead he's playing dEstiny or Dota every year.

He's becoming really annoying for me.

Did you hate BOTW?

Why do you feel these games are forcing you to explore and do extra stuff? They aren't. No game tells you to explore every detail of the world.

Open world games can be played as linear games if you want to. Linear games can only be linear games.

Destiny having better controls and Shooting isn't relative to the genres they are in. RDR2 has solid shooting for the type of game it is. It's not a FPS.

I'm talking about your statement on RDR2 being 2014's DEstiny. It's not even close. DEstiny was an average game and seen average by everyone bar Brad. RDR2 has passionate love from people and passionate Hate. But overall it's technically a huge achievement as shown by discussions on the podcasts

Destiny barely had any coverage in the GOTY deliberations except trying to shoehorn it in the top 10 because one 1 loved it so much. Destiny is basically a Thumper or an Invisible ink only a bad game that other people disliked but only put it in there due to sympathy and a bad year in general.
