Darren Criss will no longer play LGBT characters

He said it's been "a joy" acting in gay roles but no longer feels comfortable doing so, which is "unfortunate".

I suppose actors can pick and choose what roles they take, but to come out and say you're no longer comfortable playing LGBT roles seems a bit off to me.

Acting is acting, you're pretending to be something else.

Playing a gay or a trans character doesn't mean you're actually gay, just like playing a lion or a wookie doesn't mean you're one of those.

It's a shame that an actor wishes to come out say they will no longer take these LGBT roles because of how uncomfortable the roles make you feel.

Perhaps acting isn't the job for you if that is the case.

sjws would try to ruin their career if a straight actor tried to do that these days.

I don't get mad at people for being uncomfortable doing stuff. At that point you're faulting them for something forced on them by their upbringing. It's not like they're working against the movement. They're just being honest with themselves and everyone else.
