Villains would be in quotes (for spoiler reasons) but I didn't know that one half of the pair takes up FOUR characters.

But anyway, I hated Kamoshida and it seemed like we were off to a great start. Then the rest of the game happened and absolutely none of them were as hateable as him. I feel like if they were gonna start with him then the rest needed to be absolutely perfect and they weren't.

Kamoshida had more time though. He was a personal enemy of 3 party members instead of just 1 like the future ones.

i just wish there was more screen time with the villains. i expected some shit to go down with the yakuza dude and you see him for like 2 minutes and then never again.

That's what was missing! We should've been introduced to the others or have the others referenced so that by the time we get to them, we know what they're about like for example:

I mean, how is Kamoshida worse than Okumura

Okumura is someone we should've known about since it's later shown that two party members were friends before the Phantom Thieves. Could've had personal ties with them instead of just the one.

Kamoshida was more of a personal villain, and really galvanized the group. The rest of them were kind of esoteric compared to that, and more referenced ills of society that the group sought to undermine. Of course they weren't going to be as personal.

But there's ways to make those kind of people memorable. They weren't. I don't even remember the name of the second dude, the third dude I only remember since it vaguely sounds like Kamoshida, and Okumura I only remember because of the unique, for lack of a better word, connection he has.

The penultimate boss was a good villain. It's been built throughout most of the game.
The last boss sort of took me by surpise, but I connected a few dots earlier and became suspcious of that character.

If anything, I wish the big reveal wouldn't be so obvious to anyone with basic reading comprehension skills.

Wait which reveal? The one that was referenced in the beginning of the game? Because if that's the case, I don't think who it was was ever supposed to be some shocking thing. The true shocking thing is how the group dealt with it.

Game starts off as a 10/10 then falls pretty dramatically after Kamoshida.
They shouldn't have let the start of the game be the peak.

the entire game was great
but komoshida was the best villain
the only other one that comes close is sae and thats because she was a presence throughout the entire game but unlike komoshida she was an antagonist but wasnt evil so you cant hate her
