On September 11th 2001, 2,996 people died and 6,000 were injured after a series of planes flew into The World Trade Center and Pentagon while a 4th plane crashed in the middle of no where due to passengers overpowering the hijackers.



However to this day over 17 years later, every time you mention the event there is a large amount of naysayers who refute the official story of what happened. Calling it fake, or an inside job, questioning how the towers collaspes, the lack of evidence for the Pentagon attack, the dodgy inconsistencies and other strange happenings.

The Government stands by the official story and there are no plans to reopen any investigations, much to the dismay of conspiracy theorists.

But where does CE Stand? Do you buy what you're told? Or are you putting it back on the shelf?

I believe the real story is at least incomplete and some crucial information redacted to some extent, whether the story is completely altered..... yeah I do believe that too, but I have no proof or evidence or really care enough to look into it, so I don't say anything about that, and keep myself out of those conversations.

The only thing I sometimes think about is whether we actually shot down Flight 93.

Like, the government can never admit they intentionally shot down a plane full of innocent American civilians, but they were going to die anyway if the plane reached is destination (possibly the White House or the Capitol building) plus there would have been more death in the ground. It's just a horribly difficult choice they had to make, assuming they did.

I answered no to the poll but this is plausible. The amount of rah rah america lets roll is suspect. But if it did go down that way, thats cool.

Without getting too longwinded and breaking down everything, it all comes down to it being very unlikely that a sole gunman was at work. There's too much evidence out there that seems to suggest there was more than one gunman. Once you take that into account, as well as the fact that the Warren Comission and United States House Select Committee on Assassinations both believed JFK likely died at the hands of more than one gunman and could have died by conspiracy, and the government's reluctance to accept that possibility and incompetence in their own investigation of the matter it only helps fuel the possibility of him dying by conspiracy. There's a lot of woo woo stuff out there of course, but there's some good conspiracy theory vids and documentaries out there that make a lot of good points even if they're also intermingled with more out there claims.

I think the government had some inkling that an attack on US soil was bound to happen, and they figured they could use it as a pretext to invade Middle Eastern nations, destabilize governments, and seize control of natural resources.

With that said, I sincerely doubt the government planned it, or had specific knowledge of what was going to happen.

March 2001 Italian intelligence warns of an al-Qaeda plot in the United States involving a massive strike involving aircraft, based on their wiretap of al-Qaeda cell in Milan.
July 2001 Jordanian intelligence told US officials that al-Qaeda was planning an attack on American soil, and Egyptian intelligence warned the CIA that 20 al-Qaeda Jihadists were in the United States, and that four of them were receiving flight training.
August 2001 The Israeli Mossad gives the CIA a list of 19 terrorists living in the US and says that they appear to be planning to carry out an attack in the near future.
August 2001 The United Kingdom is warned three times of an imminent al-Qaeda attack in the United States, the third specifying multiple airplane hijackings. According to the Sunday Herald, the report is passed on to President Bush a short time later.
September 2001 Egyptian intelligence warns American officials that al-Qaeda is in the advanced stages of executing a significant operation against an American target, probably within the US.

It's certainly possible the US didn't take threats seriously enough, but the people who believe it was some "secret plan with bombs in the towers" or whatever nonsense are morons, as they somehow seem to believe that vast amounts of people have kept silent about it, or mysteriously vanished without being reported or being seen doing it.

Yeah, pretty much. I can buy they sat back and let it happen so they could get involved in the Middle East, or that they were just incompetent and didn't take threats seriously, but all the bombs and inside job stuff... nope.

I could see that possibly being true. I totally don't remember for sure but didn't some of the passengers phone home and say they were going to try to take back the plane, though?

Mostly. The one thing I don't buy is that the Bush administration had no knowledge of it. It was very, very politically convenient for them to allow it to happen. The Patriot Act was written and ready to go in the late 90s, but they couldn't possibly push it through then. They needed something big to make it look like it was for "national security" instead of just a power grab, so they let it happen.
