Apparently everyone is a fucking expert on amateur wrestling rules now, and yet everyone is also full of shit just spewing whatever they want to justify what they think is right.

I only trust CE when it comes down to facts so please CE educate me on the real rules on hair and amateur wrestling. Was the kid breaking the law?

The following is a review of the grooming rule for wrestlers. It is the responsibility of coaches and officials to be sure wrestlers
conform to this rule. Coaches, police your wrestlers so the officials will not have to embarrass them by requiring them
to cut their hair, shave, etc. Officials, enforce the rule as written. Do not add things that are not in the rule and do not overlook things covered by the rule.

! Wrestlers shall be clean shaven
! Side burns shall extend no lower than earlobe level
! Shall not extend below the eyebrows in the front.
! Hair, in its natural state:
! shall extend no lower than the top of an ordinary shirt
collar in the back
! shall extend no lower than earlobe level on the sides
! shall not extend below the eyebrows in the front
! If an individuals hair is as abrasive as an unshaven face
the individual will be required to shave their head smooth
or wear a legal head covering
! Hair that does not conform to the rule shall be contained in
a legal hair covering or the wrestler shall not compete
! A mustache shall not extend below the line of the lower lip
! An individual with facial hair, other than a legal mustache,
must wear a legal face mask

Dont forget the headpiece has to attach to the headgear.

It cant be a separately worn piece of equipment.

I don't think there is a rule if there is it is something like a little over shoulder length. I know a lot of world champions have had long hair people Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Edge, the Undertaker and the list goes on. You can be a successful wrestler and have long hair that's a fact.
