Anyway there's no real good explanation what's going on with Diavolo's infinite deaths and where his body is, but I liked this theory

I believe that his body has now died (several times, technically), but since his death is set to '0,' his soul keeps transferring over to people in their moment of death rather than moving on afterwards. It's an ironic punishment tying into the fact that he cheated so many things that should have killed him. He never actually gets to die, but his entire existence now reminds him of death's inevitability and nothing else

and despite how bizarre that all got near the end, Part 6 is king when it comes to how bizarre things get. Really only Part 8 comes close.

I caught up on part 8 recently

it's definitely better than 6, though good isn't the metric you're comparing the two with here...

and Part 5 was down there with Part 1 near the bottom of my list, but I like said the anime really boosted my opinion of it. I wish Part 4 anime had the budget that Part 5 had.

willpower to a state of zero

For reference, I literally dropped 6 because I thought it (And Jolyne in particular) was rather boring. I may go back and give it another chance, but eh

I consider 8 to be on the same level as 2 and 3 (or maybe slightly above), and definitely not on the level of 7 or 4. It's interesting and the fights are good, but the main cast leaves a bit to be desired IMO. A strong ending would definitely bump it up though.

(Also yeah, I never actually read part 5 because only the shit translation was available at the time I was interested, so I opted to wait for the anime because I kept hearing it was pretty standalone, but everything I've heard says that the anime is a ton better anyways. Not quite 7/4 level, but I think it'd be something like 7 > 4 >> 5 > 8 >= 2 >= 3 >> 1 >> 6 imo)

6 definitely has a slow start, but the final 1/3 of that part is some of my favorite JoJo stuff

Although I understand a lot of people actually hate everything that happens there

Okay, but what IS EDT?

Eastern Daylight Time, what the east coast of the US is under right now (equivalent to Atlantic Standard Time)

Araki made a stand too strong in King Crimson so he had to make the most broken stand ever to get them out of that situation

Except he didn't. The entire idea of King Crimson was really just "What if The World, but the protagonist doesn't have the ability to move through frozen time?". And indeed, outside of that power, KC really doesn't have nearly the strength or speed that The World had, not to mention how Diavolo lacks the endurance, flight, and injury regeneration that Dio possessed as a vampire (even though Araki himself doesn't seem to realize that, since that's how Diavolo managed to recover from Nero's attack and kill Abbacchio as he escaped). And even if the Gangstars can't remember or think during skipped time, that doesn't mean they stop doing things during it.

Of course, then shonen starts getting shonen, and we get bullshit like "I removed half a second of time to avoid getting killed by Aerosmith's barrage", inconsistencies with whether KC can attack people during skipped time, and just all that good nonsense that's about making the villain as unbeatable as possible that you eventually realize that nothing going on has any kind of logic beyond that immediate narrative purpose. And even though there's tons of unique ways that Giorno and Gold Experience (which itself was walking that tightrope of being OP bullshit that just makes up rules on a dime to be utterly undefeatable in the most roundabout ways) could've fought and defeated Diavolo just like Josuke used in his final confrontation with Kira, we instead have to watch everyone scramble to grab an arrow off of a silver ghost that can turn peoples's Stands against them, which KC defeats by pulling further bullshit out of his ass, and then he gets defeated by Bruno pulling even MORE bullshit out of HIS ass, and then Giorno stabs himself and just automatically wins. The End, No Moral.

also disappointed Trish didn't get more action scenes

I guess Araki couldn't think up of more clever ways for her to use her powers

But I WILL say

seems like I'm being overly negative

however, this part has the BEST action scenes in the series by far.

The fights were just great

they pitted two stand powers that are just weird against each other and made them epic

Like Aerosmith Vs That Shrinking Stand

what kind of match up is that, but they made it work

I didn't really like the cast though, nor their designs

I like how in most shows, they're like, this power wasn't meant for anyone to have or I WON"T LET IT FALL INTO THE WRONG HANDS

but Giorno is like Naw son Imma keep this fuckin arrow dawg

Pol and Giorno not having any convos about Dio is yet another disappointment

I think it was cute Mista and Trish had a moment but it was still sorta forced. Anybody surviving the parts are obviously coming out of it as true companions, but I hardly saw that happening here. and Trish being Chummy with Mista is supposed to represent that I guess.

okay okay last comment for now

I want to know how Giorno actually became the boss. I'm sure they still have lackeys, they probably just killed all of the Stand Users in the organization

but did he just go and say "lol I'm the boss guise" and they were all like "k"

or did he strong arm his way and say "Yall workin for me now, i killed everybody"

or what

something An EPILOGUE could've answered

Lastly, I'm impressed, from a narrative point of view, that Diavolo never got the arrow

all of the villians usually get a last minute power up that the heroes have to overcome. Giorno would've had to exceed him somehow, obviously with the arrow too

but it never came to that, Giorno just powered up and completely decimated him. It was one sided, an ass pull, but different and satisfying
