regardless of how it's being used. This is way too high of a figure, right?

I'm currently on a 30/30 plan in a 4 person household and it does fuckin suck. But I'm not sure if we need to upgrade our bandwidth fourfold, that seems excessive.

As someone who stays by myself with 200download it is absolutely necessary, it's not but really but I never have any issues with anything download or stream related.

30 isn't really excessive these days...

If you're downloading stuff or uploading lot as a programmer I'd say its worth it. It all depends on how costly the upgrade would be. If it's $15 or $20 extra go for it.

I was able to stream in HD at 7 MBPs while sharing it with two people (Counting myself) without problems. Of course downloads would take forever at that speed so it really depends on what you do with it

yeah I'm definitely gonna talk to my mom about upgrading. I'd happily pay more, but the weird thing is they have a 200mbps plan on their website for the same price we pay (and the 30mbps plan isn't even listed)

There's a trick when doing that...

Threaten to cancel over the phone and they'll throw free shit and promos your way lol. Good luck!

You're grandfathered into a shitty plan.

Things have changed a lot recently. Even low tiers are over 100 Mbps with most companies now.

Ask them if they can change you over and if they don't listen, you can always cancel and then sign up again with your mom or dad instead depending on who it's under right now. You should save a very significant amount and get upgraded in the process.

this is good to hear, I'll try calling again when my moms home (since she has the billing info). I'd been told we'd signed up for a really good plan, but it turns out no one knew what they were talking about. It wasn't until I asked to see the bill I realized how poor our bandwidth was.
