Didn't like this episode as much as the last. Not saying it's bad or anything, but episode 1 ended on such a high note. I think it's mostly because Eren v Reiner doesn't do anything for me. like they're just punching each other who cares. I was way more into Erwin strategizing and the Scouts coming in at the end to wreck Reiner with multi-stage pile bunkers lmao hange mvp. also lmao the explanation for reiner surviving levi's attack was such bs.

I got the normal ending for 428, but it seems there's still some bonus content left to do. I can't imagine that's where it all ends. There's got to be another ending in here somewhere.

Hint for the good ending since its probably pretty hard to trigger without looking at a guide:

Each of the four characters has a seemingly meaningless decision in the final block where they have to make an ethical choice. If you make the right choice for each of them, there will be another choice that happens near the end when something happened that didnt seem quite right.

Oh right, one more thought about last night's Attack on Titan episode.

It's kind of weird that they tried to make me care about Reiner getting killed (or so it seems. I guess he could find some other implausible way to avoid it) when the dude was never really that likable, even before we found out he was the Armored Titan. Bertolt would be the real loss imhotbqh

lmao incredible pillars of eternity ii moment

So I was fighting some undead and it was annoying because they had an immunity to pierce type damage (which is most ranged weapons and the most common damage type on my team cuz it's like 1 tank and 4 ranged most of the time but i digress) and all of a sudden my MC just gets removed from existence. A tutorial message about character death flashes in the corner but disappears almost instantly and my MC's portrait just vanishes from the status bar and the log goes nuts saying all my quest critical items were moved. (Normally HP to 0 knocks you out for the rest of combat barring a revive spell, and after combat ends you get back up but with an injury which is a persistent debuff that lasts until you rest at an inn or something similar. You can for-real die if you acquire 4 injuries at the same time. I had no injuries when this all occurred.)

I thought at first this was some weird glitch, reloaded immediately... but it happened again. And then it hit me... I realized it wasn't a glitch but instead something hilariously amazing. When possible, I was having my MC cast Disintegrate, which is a spell that does heavy damage - and more importantly to me, is of a damage type that can't be resisted - it also has a feature where if it kills an enemy, they are just... disintegrated (in practical terms this means no corpse, enemies just turn into like little dust loot piles.)

It turns out both times I cast it on an undead mage who had a reflection spell up, so the attack reflected back at me and disintegrated me and the special disintegrate effect bypasses the injury rules and just perma-kills you on the spot... which makes sense! I realized it when I saw in the log "MC kills MC" and looked up at the enemies and saw the mage had Minor Arcane Reflection as an effect on it. lol. I didn't realize that, but in my defense, I didn't think Arcane Reflection worked on Cipher Spells (the class my character is) but I guess it does!

I should have finished the battle to see if the game would nonsensically let me continue with a permanently dead MC. It 100% shouldn't, but it didn't game over me right there either soooo...

Okay, 428: Shibuya Scramble beated and Platinum achieved! Whew, that was quite a task getting all those last few trophies. I don't know how you manage that without a guide. Anyway, really fun game with a solid cast. Definitely recommend it if you're a VN fan. The ending wasn't quite as satisfying as I'd like, but for the most part, the individual character arcs wrap up pretty cleanly.

Yeah, that side story isn't very interesting. I generally don't like it when VNs throw in long side stories about characters you barely knew in the main story because I have zero reason to be invested in this. The other one was pretty interesting, but it also wasn't very long, so that probably helped.

The special episodes are...something. They're kind of hit or miss, but thankfully, they're fairly brief either way.

Oh right, I did start up Cold Steel II last night, but I didn't play much because I was kind of tired and it was late. I got to the first Orbment Charging Station basically, so I'm still in the tutorial mode. I was trying to determine if I wanted to listen to all the recap of CS1 because they're partially voice acted. I listened to the first couple chapters and decided maybe I'd do it when I had more time and I wasn't so tired, so maybe I'll do that today.

I guess I should probably spoiler everything here since I don't want to spoil anything from CS1 for anyone here who might eventually play it (assuming anyone is actually reading this). Rean wakes up after a month of being in a coma on a freezing cold mountain and he's totally okay. Valimar apparently used all of his energy to keep him safe and alive, so now he's all busted up. Celine keeps trying to talk some sense into Rean, but he's not having any of it until he knows everyone's okay. Celine also says we shouldn't just leave Valimar out in the open like that, but what exactly are we supposed to do with him?

Of course, the DLC has already kind of spoiled who all will be joining my party at various points of the game (and the 4-panel comics in the instruction booklets did, too, so whatever), but I imagine we're going to be spending at least the first part of the game trying to get the band back together.

I'm hearing that CS2 PS4 has its framerate just die in certain areas... but only on PS4 Pro. Seems like it's fine on regular PS4s.

Cold Steel II prologue complete. Nothing too surprising happened there, but it sets the stage for what's to come. It's nice to see that the exchange rates for sepith no longer suck, and the DLC gives you a ton of U-Materials and sepith right off the bat, so I doubt I'll be struggling to keep up with mira this time around, at least not to the same extent.

From what I'm reading, no. Turning boost mode on or off or forcing the game to play in 1080 rather than 4k does nothing to fix it.

CS2: Ymir's Town Theme is great IMO. I like all the music in that area, actually. End of the Prologue is really good, too.

Yeah, CS2 is a lot nicer about money, it's really just CS1 that is a pain about it.

Well, I guess I'm technically kind of a bracer now with Toval keeping track of everything for me, so it makes sense.

The main thing I'm glad about is that sepith exchange rates aren't total crap, which kinda makes no sense. You'd figure the rates would be worse in a wartime economy, but whatever.
