The incidents happened between May 2012 and November 2012, according to warrants. He communicated with the minor with the intent of "persuading, inducing, enticing, or coercing the victim to engage or participate in sexual activity," according to a SLED investigator. Warrants allege Snelgrove kissed, hugged and felt on the girl while at Frankie's Fun Park.

the conviction wasn't for sexual assault at all

looks like the issue is actually with the investigation. that part of his charges got dismissed.

Snelgrove's sentence was finalized last week. He will serve three years of probation after he pleaded guilty to contributing to the delinquency of a minor and misconduct in office. Charges of criminal sexual conduct with a minor and criminal solicitation of a minor, both felonies, were dismissed, according to court records.

Thank you for posting this article, since it gives a lot more detail of the incident and the lawsuit. I wish it gave more detail as to why other charges were dismissed.

Well, to be fair, in the US, about 30 states have age of consent at 16, 20 states are 18. Thats only in the US. In other parts of the countries that legal age greatly varies. If the shit they're doing is legal to their law, they can do whatever the fuck. I'd just prefer 18/19.

The lawsuit alleges that the plaintiff, who was 15 years old at the time, volunteered to assist the Fountain Inn Police Department with its summer youth camp during the spring and summer of 2012, which is when she met Snelgrove. It alleges that Snelgrove sexually assaulted her at Frankie's Fun Park on Woodruff Road in May 2012 during a summer camp function.

The suit continues that over the next three years, Snelgrove allegedly sexually assaulted the plaintiff while on duty in his patrol car "on numerous occasions." It alleges that Snelgrove manipulated her into having sex through the power of his position, including using his firearm, coercing her "to skip or leave school in order to sexually assault her" in his patrol car. It states that the plaintiff "was unable to resist the unwanted sexual advances out of fear of retribution.

thats right doesnt even have to register on the list. One area people really should focus their criticism on is the judge who let his plea deal be accepted and allowed him to get away with it. Judge is just as guilty.

Most of those immigrants come from a must be married nation which is funny since the US has quite a few states that give exemptions for that too.

Luckily those states all have legal proceedings to ensure there is no foul play whereas the majority of the immigrant child brides are because of foul play

Given their authority and potential for abuse of power, cops should be held to a higher standard than civilians. Its fucking ridiculous that theyre in fact held to a much lower standard. The abuses pigs get away with (or relative slaps on the wrist for) are absurd.

There are no states that, under 16, allow children to get married without judicial approval. Can you say the same about Syria?
