Why was it still frozen???

I ate one whole thigh then the second one I bit into was cold near the bone. I immediately threw any remaining chicken away.

I'm afraid I got salmonella. Which means I'm going to have one of those horrifying kill-me-now death shits.

That's about how long you should cook a normal chicken thigh. Gonna have to give it another 15 or so for frozen.

I need help with now is easing the pain. I know what I'm in for. An hour or two shitting my guts out. Every time I experience this type of diarrhea I want it to end any way possible.

What can I do to not suffer as bad

You always need to get a thermometer for chicken. Also, get fresh chicken from now on to avoid the thaw process. Last, you dont have salmonella and should be fine.

That's the thing I'm so confused about. I did have a thermometer. I even triple checked each chicken making sure I got both the deep meat in me check and against the bone for another. All of them were above 180.

Been a long time since we did frozen but the simple answer is to thaw them for 2 days in the fridge before cooking.

Seems like it's not the first time this happens.. Maybe learn to be a better cook? Thaw it first? Check if it's done before trying to eat it?

Its totally fine to cook from frozen but I dunno where tc got the idea 45 mins was long enough or that he should have the oven that hot.

60 to 70 mins at 350 is perfect for juicy well cooked thighs from frozen.

Anyone saying you can avoid food poisoning by being vegan is just dumb tbh.

No one has said you can avoid all food poisoning by being vegan. You can 100% avoid food poisoning (and the feeling of disgust and worry) from biting into cold uncooked meat tho

The world is a germy place even without meats

You can also do that by being moderately competent at cooking or using a recipe though.

This. I eat a lot of chicken and live alone. Its way cheaper to buy in amounts I cant eat right away.

Also I have good shopping skills but poor meal planning. Often I dont remember to thaw shit.

While its still not acceptable kitchen staff is often rushed by managers/boss or waitress informing them the customer seems/is being impatient. So even decent cooks fuck up oncr in awhile.

Ive never had this problem though. Only thing ive ever undercooked was a burger but in all fairness I was still a complete newb to cooking at the time. I didnt get sick though.
