Kinda hard to tell

I mean, someone with limited English wouldnt spell n***** on purpose, unless they were extremely racist

But why would they do that? The person who spelled their name couldve tricked the worker

Can definitely see why the yahoo comments section is the way it is

So when Brandon went to pick up his order they told him that they didnt have an order for him, only for this Nigel guy, right...? Right...?

This guy clearly took advantage of the fact that they ask English speakers to spell out there names and pulled a scam on them.

Maybe he was talking to his also-black friend while they asked for his name.

Or maybe he did it intentionally.

If they didn't find his food when he said Brandon, he might have said what it was. Some places do that. Because it is possible they got a name wrong. And when he gave him the food, he may have checked to see what name was on it since it apparently wasn't Brandon and saw. He may have also just been pulling scam for whatever reason...

He was a regular? Yet they made that mistake? I don't think I buy it.

Sounds like he took advantage of their limited English and pulled a stunt.

According to the article he didnt make any fuss and didnt even check the receipt when he picked up his order. In other words, he said his name was Nigel and they gave him his food. If there was a back-and-forth over the name you know damn well everybody would be double and triple checking that receipt to make sure that the order was correct.

Not always. I know people that just check the food. As long as the food is theirs, they are usually fine. Like if he said his name, they said they didnt have his order, and then he said what food, then they might have given him the bag. And maybe only afterwards, he checked for whatever reason. Im not saying thats what happened. Im just saying its a possibility. Ive seen people check food when they want to make sure they got the right order. Seen them check receipts, as well... But much less. Plus, receipts can be wrong. But it wouldnt matter if you got the right food...

I mean I pick up Chinese food all of the time and often just tell them what I ordered instead of name.

In this case sounds like they ask the customer to spell the name or so sounds like a set up to take advantage of the Chinese people who don't speak very good English
