@dolomedes

I found this little guy in my garage this morning, just sitting there, not moving an inch. Should I just leave him be, or should I relocate him (assuming he's still there; I haven't checked)? Will he eat annoying bugs? Funny thing though...He kind of reminds me of a spider that was found in the produce at the grocery store I used to work at a while back (bottom picture), and both are missing their back left leg lol

That's a Wolf Spider. I almost stuck my hand RIGHT into a Black Widow a week ago and that shook me a little bit.

I was carrying something to the trash last year and it had a black widow on it. Naturally i dropped that shit. Also had to share a porta john with one for 2 weeks when I worked construction.

It looks too slim to be a wolf spider. Although it does kind of look like this little creature

Fits too, since I'm in Hawaii

Okay wait, what are the odds...The spider in that link is also missing a leg lol

Thanks for the info. I swear youre a spider encyclopedia that somehow gained consciousness lol

Actually, Ive been wondering...Is there a reason that the top spider has its legs spread out so theyre nearly straight, while the bottom on has them in the more traditional bent position?

That's really neat! I actually assumed the opposite; not that the spider was ready to move, but that it was just resting lol

Heh, kinda already guessed cane spider from knowing that you're in Hawai'i.

I've noticed that they've actually been a bit more predominant lately. Don't think I ever saw any as a kid, but they were plentiful during my parents' time and I've seen several in my area in the past five years or so.

They're supposed to be relatively harmless, even beneficial to have around. Fast as fuck though, which can be alarming if one zips past you on the wall at night.
