my Teammates tries to drop into the ocean to start so I was solo and proceeded to win on my own for the first time. Ive hit top 2 a few times like this but beating a squad by myself is rare. This time I tossed a miracle grenade to finish the third place squad and then did some Spittfire and Nox work at the end.

Had a game like that with duos last season. Our random was the jumpmaster and tried to suicide us. (Luckily theres a little ledge down below Water Treatment off the map.

His box spawned right where I landed, so I recovered him anyway, respawned him, whatever. He goes off on his own to Repulsor, dies, spams enemy spotted until he times out.

We won the game, and my friend and I sent him a screenshot of the victory screen, lol.

so what are thinking of Wattson? I have no idea how to effectively use the fences when it comes to placing more than the 2 fence points.

Also, how come a lot of times ill place one fence post and then I can't place a 2nd one, it's red-ed out no matter where I try to put it? Is that because its on cooldown from previous ones so you can only place one .... but placing one post does literally nothing?

Good fence use that I've seen is late game stuff - blocking off where the ring closes and weakened enemies trickle in, or cordoning off some ledges to maintain highground (think airbase).

Most early game fences seem to be based on doors and corridors and nothing too tricky.

The ultimate is OK but they really wanted people holding onto the ultimate boosters while also pulling back on available backpack space - I feel like this will be tweaked at some point. Then again Mirage is mostly full of uselessness and they've really not done much aside from the knocked state, which is honestly quite nice

Mirage can pop out of his ultimate at will now, which makes using it for a flank way more useful.

ah. I haven't used him much recently.

I liked the ranked play now that I'm in gold. Silver 2 and 1 had a lot of fun matches. Sure, I'd get stuck with some real bozos that run from fights and are still looting in the final ring, and then trying to camp somewhere. This style of gameplay is highly rewarded because you get 0 kills but make the top 5 fairly routinely. Silver 1 was full of campers/looters and good players. So lots of easy kills and good squad mates and good competition.

I had a 2 person squad (third person never connected) and the person didn't just quit out, and we ended up rolling the game. That never happened before - that person quit 80% of the time or they were just kinda bad.

I still get intro groups with Octane players that rush to loot and rush into fights and die and spam "ENEMY NEARBY" and quit out and I'm not sure how those guys make it into gold. Sometimes those guys get 2-3 kills early if they get a Devotion while everyone else has nothing, but they'd have to play a lot of matches to get up there.

I'm still early in silver and get people who split off or quit when getting killed solo maybe 1 in every 4-5 matches or so. Much better than the 1 in ever 2 you'd normally see, or in non-Ranked.

Also I've seen people with like 40 Season 2 wins already, I mean come on.

finally getting back into ranked and gold is as bad as bronze was a week ago, except with bigger connection problems compounding the already terrible connection issues this game has.

My battle pass is leveling up soooooo much faster this time around.

I only just realized that the weekly reset also resets the standard EXP battle pass levels requirements, which explains a lot.

If you consistently hit every challenge, it should take about a month and a half to max the pass if you bought the premium, 2 months if not. So a month wiggle room.

I find myself getting better but I've really got to fight the urge to charge in after I down sometimes. I'm pretty good with the scout so I'll knock someone and then grapple in and get wrecked.

Had a string of terrible games today, then something clicked and we won 4 in a row in ranked.

Pretty annoying to see one of your teammates quit in the middle of that.

I had a game yesterday where I killed 5 people on the dropship, go to rez a teammates and get killed by a person who was hiding, but get him down to 1 shot. Lo and behold, our 3rd (who is in the party with us) went the next area over fucking 300 meters away because I didnt have armor, and he ends up getting waxed.

It felt bad.

been getting a lot of randoms with loot FOMO, using mobility skills to get double weapons when I have 0 at the start, and then pinging the jesus out of enemies when I'm looking for a weapon. or worse, they ping a Moz after taking the ammo and they don't even have a shotty. so many weird behaviors.

I think if I see a "level 100" badge I know it's going to go poorly... the mark of someone who has never done anything good or interesting in the game aside from log in every day for a couple of months

They're just floating it out there to get user feedback, looks like.

Should be interesting. I'd think they'd need a new map for proper solo, or tweaks for heroes.

My BR experience is slightly limited ( I did play a bunch of H1Z1) but having third parties is common. It's the same as Apex now - if you're undermanned, you have to jump into fights that are already happening. It doesn't happen much until the end because the map is so big.

I like this approach - the core game is pretty solid, so add modes to see how players use it, adjust from there.

I tried solo, got 2 games in. Game 1 I got 20th place, didn't see anyone and someone camping around a corner picked me off. Game 2 I got second place, killed #3 and did good work on #1 but he totally third-manned the fight and I was out of shields from it. Weapons are such a crapshoot at the drop that I don't want to drop in a crowd only to get a helmet and two cells while the guy next two me gets an energy weapon.

finally got platinum in ranked and now I can play normally - I was developing some bad habits. I have no desire to grind for diamond.

I did get a win with the very final pinhead sized circle, it was one of my favorite final battles because both squads were originally stuck in different corners of one of those U shaped buildings. Never seen that ultimate "ring" before.

I had to select "drop solo" pretty much every game. I'll land with my squad most of the time but I don't want to have someone land right next to me and grab all the stuff from "my" supply bin and I end up with a -2 because I had no weapon, and I like to see how many squads are landing where they land, and if they drop too early or late, etc. If I play normally I get too frustrated with randoms when I end up -2 for dumb behaviors.

I expect some bad games and I'm not perfect, but getting -2 for the stuff that already frustrates me - too maddening ha

Glad I hit plat just before solo mode dropped.

My buddy and I play together and he hit Plat before me and now half our matches are with Diamond and Apex players. Its crazy. Ive gone down from Gold 1 to 2 already, never had that happen.

I'm definitely much better at Solo than I am in squads. Can finally stop worrying about if anyone i pursue would have backup if I shot them, which was mentally holding me back.

I dont like Solo mode all that much.

The game is already 3rd party heavy, and in solo mode its cranked up to 11.

Also it feels really bad to get shot in the back by someone camping in an unlooted building, and I dont want to play Bloodhound.

Also my experience was colored by my first game getting killed by a Pathfinder Whale with 16,000 kills.

It's kinda fun to watch - I'll see someone run by, another player jump out of from behind a corner to follow the person and shoot him in the back, and then while they engage, a third person flies out from nowhere to third party all of that.

then I run away and camp somewhere else, that's too hot for me I gotta get fifth place

Got my first solo win today. I have like a dozen second/third finishes but I was never able to time the third party finale well until today, and I haven't really played the mode this week and I don't really enjoy it. But yeah I basically ended up camping due to household distractions and did 3 damage to the second place guy for the win. Super lame haha

I finally got my Caustic win. I did next to nothing (I did less than 100 damage, no kills, no revives, no respawns), though in my defense, my teammates kept running off ahead without communicating at all.

Now I will go back to playing the characters I truly enjoy (Bloodhound and Gibraltar).

Its a lot of fun, the kills come fast when everyone has white armor or less.

Wait, I thought the game wouldn't start with anything but 60? I assumed that having a 1 or 2 person team was the result of teammates exiting the game prior to the character selection screen.
