Like thief, styx: masters of shadows, deus ex, hitman, shadow tactics: blades of shogun etc.

In these games getting spotted means you are throwing away the level's predictabilty and challenge. Whike you have the option to reload a save, in most cases getting spotted dont stop the game. If you are good enough, you still can improvise, change your tactics and approach, you can overcome the level still.

In shitty games with forced stealth section, you get spotted and the game just lazily display game over screen (AHEMCASTLEVANIALORDSOFSHADOWS2)

In stealth games, what happens when you get spotted is carefully considered and is a major part of the game mechanics. In non-stealth games there is usually some very context-heavy reason why you suddenly have to use stealth, and it creates situations where the story could not reasonably progress if you get spotted.

The context is ass in lords of shadow. Literal lord fucking dracula, have the blood of badass belmont family, prince of darkness, scurrying in the shadows as a literal rat.
