Most of rookie level ones look weirdly proportioned and they just get more and more over-designed as they go up levels. Design-wise, you get to find all sorts of Pokemon, cute, cool, pretty, interesting, whatever. Sure, not all Pokemon designs are good, but if you look there are more good ones than terrible ones. The only thing every Digimon's design accomplishes is being ugly and/or unsettlingly creepy. Pretty amazing how that manages to be a constant. Baby forms are just an example; they had one job, looking cute, and they fail miserably even at that. Season 1 is definitely better, and once season 3 kicked off I never got into it. I completely hated that they did away with the cast of 1 and 2 and was all "yeah, those kids you've been following?
