Rest in piece super circuit, eternal most underrated. Sadly, SMK style has never been my thing so while I'm all for defending it relative to that, there was basically no way I was going to decide on it between it and 7 (which were the two last place options when I voted)

if there are only additions (new characters, tracks, etc.) then i don't think of it as a different game but if there are system/mechanic changes then at least an argument is there

I wondered the same thing. I havent played 8 deluxe but from what I understand it's just 8 (with all the DLC in the base game) plus a few new characters and battle tracks (not even any new GP tracks).

it would be funnier if there's a big gap between 8 and 8D because i'm sure most people would still take vanilla 8 over other games in the series head to head

I actually think 7 has the best tracks of the entire series. Would be above 64 if it had versus and slightly more neat/difficult tech.
