MATCH 1

Ignith of the Final Attack #10 vs. Yesterday's Opponents are Today's Ingredients #13. Actually a pretty close match. Both of these songs are ones that I like a lot, yet have something about them that I don't particularly like, but overall, I feel like Ignith is just a bit more consistently good. I don't really have an overwhelming preference for either song here, though. I'm okay with either song winning.

MATCH 2

Invitation Flower ~ Autumn #9 vs. Final Boss Theme #29. Considerably easier match to decide. I do sort of like Final Boss Theme, but I'm surprised it got this far! I'm saying this as a compliment.

My top 2 are incredibly close. My initial rankings had the two songs swapped, but right now, I think I prefer Invitation Flower ~ Autumn more. It's close to the point where I could see myself flipping again if the two songs were matched up against each other in round 5.

Wow-I-didn't-notice-there-were-two-songs-from-the-same-game-today day.

Match 1:

As I said last round, 0:12-0:23 of Yesterday's Opponents sounding like Curse of Darkness's battle themes is just a really good sign of quality. The song is a mix of good rock + Atelier's own goodness, which is enough for a winning combo here. I was never too fond of Ignith in the past rounds. Not because it's bad, but because there are many better songs with its style out there.

Match 2:

As Atelier has proven to me in the past, their songs (not all of them, but still many) can be truly magnificent. I came in here thinking this was going to be the closest match toda-- *listens to AGHR's madness*... Wow, this is truly amazing. Not so much the song in itself, which is already quite the accomplishment this far into the contest (since many quality songs are unfortunately out), but rather how this particular 8-bit song really sounds like it's trying its best to knock Invitation Flower out of the field. Despite the actual closeness of the match that I originally thought would be there but that I later thought it wasn't going to be so close by listening to Invitation Flower and finally reverting my opinion to its original state by listening to AGHR, I'll still give the edge to the Autumn.

This particular match was too troublesome because while Autumn is just instrumentally harmonious goodness, with passion behind it, AGHR just goes full-throttle to try to convince me to not get away with Autumn's victory. Arguably one of the hardest matches in the whole contest. The decisive factor was simply how much sublime emotion there is behind Autumn.
