I literally ate 3/4 of one by myself the other week in 2 days. I don't buy them often because I'll just demolish it almost instantly (and because cutting it up a whole one into little chunks takes a good 15 or 20 min.)

Those seeded watermelons you get from random sellers on the side of the road will get the seedless ones you put from the supermarket to shame. I know it's messier, and quality can sometimes be inconsistent, but it's worth the gamble. It will actually ruin you for anything less.

I don't actually know if this is a thing North of the Mason-Dixon, though.

I've had plenty of those and I think a good seedless can go toe to toe with them. Even if seeded is possibly a higher quality, I'd rather not deal with the seeds

That being said a there really isn't any inbetween with seedless. They are either amazing or garbage. A "bad" seeded watermelon can still be pretty good

it's good, but what's even better is watermelon that has been marinated in a honey-orange-clove glaze and slapped on a charcoal/wood chip grill (not gas, never gas)

That sounds delicious. Never tried any kind of grilled fruit.
