I picked up Q2 the other day, and it's pretty fun so far. Definitely a good game for the 3ds to go out on. Had to download it though, since no one I called seemed to get it in stock past covering their one preorder.

if that is bothering you then why not play on citra the 3ds emu
i was able to push it to 4k barley on my crappy laptop but it still worked
but 3ds is still better for portable gaming when i am going to work and playing it on breaks

i had the same feeling when i went back to play resident evil 1 DC on psx
getting used to the old gameplay is annoying sometimes but i still love the game for it's cheesy feel and annoying fetch quest and backtracking

Whatever was the latest at the time, about three? weeks ago when I put my new PC together, Ryzen 5 2600 and RTX 2060
It ran at avg 30-40 FPS and the anime cutscenes were running below 20 or something IIRC. They were basically unviewable

What are you expecting them to say? Companies aren't just come out and say "Our system is now officially dead". When games stop being made and it stops being profitable they'll just discontinue it

Sony kinda did

Plus last year, Nintendo was like "No really guyz! 3DS is still alive and kicking!" when they only had like 2 titles announced for the system

They STILL make Wii games. Just Dance had a port to it just last year.

Currently getting shredded by the first boss on Risky. TBH, It is what I get for choosing Risky. Gonna have to grind it out to get access to some better abilities.

Current talk is that the first boss is hard as hell but the game eases way up after that (thanks to expanding your party options I guess).

why won't they port these shits to switch

One reason for that is actually because of the 3D.

It has twice as many pixels in the display as you actually see (per eye).

Etrian Odyssey games in general you can usually play on the highest difficulty with no grinding just because of the tools you have at your disposal. But Q2 seems to have missed this in that the personas you can fuse at level 10-11 (about the level you meet the first boss) don't have the abilities you need to be able to take the boss on Risky. So grinding it is.

But generally it is only one hump because afterward you get access to the tools you need to strategize effectively.

the first dungeon is the only remotely challenging part of the entire game

It's fun so far. It's basically more of 1, which is a good thing for me.

My only gripes are that it's dub only and the first boss is fucking impossible, which a lot of people are complaining about too >_>

Are you able to turn off the character voices? I think I'd rather play like that than have all these characters I'm familiar with sounding "off".

It's not that I have a problem with subs, love the Yakuza series (and Tokyo Mirage Sessions for a game much more similar) for instance but the English voicework is a big reason I'm as attached to the Persona characters as I am so I could see it being really jarring.

I would have bought this game the second it became available, but I cant get past the chibi transformation of characters Im familiar with. I just dont like chibification. Its a deal breaker for me, and that bums me out.
