The ports are good cause it shows Nintendo is catching up with current Gen and you can play those games on the go. Some people only play Nintendo consoles. This is also good for them.

It's not like we're getting a lack of original titles either.

You can argue that Nintendo is just making up for lost time becuase its prior consoles were to damn weak to port anything proper. Leaving its faithful owners f***ed and ignored for the longest.

Nintendo has been out of the loop on ports since after the GameCube. So with the Switch, people finally again get Nintendo 1st party games plus 3rd party ports.

To me, the Switch adds something to ports in its portability. Being able to play Hollow Knight or whatever on your commute is a pretty good reason to have a Switch.

This. We're getting fully portable versions of high profile multi-platform games that (outside of graphics, which I'm not really a stickler for anyways) aren't being severely gimped in the transition from the XB1/PS4/PC to the Switch. Trading graphics for portability is a trade that I'll make 9 times out of 10.

Which ports are you specifically talking about though? The whole point of my last post is that portable ports (that aren't super gimped) of games that were previously not portable, the portability factor adds enough to the experience to justify the port.

I think the switch would get more shame for these ports if it weren't essentially the Wii U 2.0... doing everything they should've and wanted to do with the Wii U, but this time doing it right. So people pick up these wii u titles and are like "finally, I'm playing it how it should be played <3" though that is obviously not the case with every port.

The biggest issue with those PSP ports was the lack of a second thumbstick. No idea what they were thinking there. You often had to hold a button to move the camera.

Vita improved that but it never really got the support. But it was overall good for those indie and Japanese ports.

Switch finally has all of the controls and is getting pretty good support too.
