Due to focus on Xbox Scarlett development.

However, there is one final batch of games backwards compatible games on Xbox and Xbox 360, and Too Human is free.

https://marketplace.xbox.com/en-us/Product/Too-Human/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d8024d5307de

Here is the final list of every backwards compatible title, sorted by release date

https://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/backward-compatibility?xr=shellnav

I just hope Microsoft resumes future backwards compatibility for Xbox 360 and Original Xbox titles on the Scarlett, since all current games from those consoles will be backwards compatible.

Backwards compatibility on the XBox has always been shit anyway, because it isn't really backwards compatibility at all as much as it is selective emulation in disguise.

Literally every single game performed exactly the same on original hardware, in the WORST CASE SCENARIO.

Games played on the X have MUCH more stable framerates and load faster than on the Xbox 360. It may just be emulation, but Microsoft must have had tons of virgin sacrifices and voodoo magic with headless chickens to even get it running AT ALL.

I would much rather play an Xbox 360 game on an Xbox One X, than on Xbox 360 (I would even play it on a regular Xbox One over an Xbox 360). THAT is how good the emulation is. The first year was rough (with games like Halo: Reach and Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts having bad framerates, but both those games have been patched with more stable framerates than they had on Xbox 360 since then), but once they got the multi-disk games out, they've hit it out of the ballpark. Even more so with X Enhanced Games.

Don't rag on it.

Not even remotely true.

Plenty of games were never emulated at all, and a number of games were half-assed and ran like shit.

Sure, your major mainstream titles like Halo were going to get the prestige treatment, but games like KotOR had multiple problems if you try and play them on the 360, and you were shit out of luck if you wanted to play Deus Ex: Invisible War. I have a fairly large original Xbox library, and only about half of those games play on the 360, and only about half of those actually play as well as they did on the original.

It's part of why my reaction to their "The Xbox One is going to have full backwards compatibility!" sales pitch was a hilarious "fuck you". Because they literally did the exact same thing there that they did first time around, and first time around was horseshit.

Actual backwards compatibility is what the PS2 had. And what the PS5 may hopefully have if rumors are to be believed. But I have zero faith Microsoft is going to do right by the concept, because they literally never have.

The emulation for Original Xbox games were NOT BASED ON THE XBOX 360'S EMULATOR. It is based on a new emulator, which is proprietary to the Xbox One. When I played KoToR, it was mostly at 60 FPS, and at a massively upscaled resolution (but 16:9 since the game never supported widescreen).

Just look at Digital Foundry's and VG Tech's videos on Xbox One backwards compatible titles.

To be fair, the underside of the PS2's main circuit board was literally a PS1 sitting next to a DVD player. It wasn't emulating, it was a 95% faithful PS1 reproduction under the hood with a multifunction disc controller playing referee.

And the PS3 having PS2 components is part of the reason why it cost $600 at launch.

Also, @ParanoidObsessive watch these videos. I am not encouraging that to annoy you, but I at least want you to not discount the Xbox One based on assumptions. I mostly play backwards compatible games on my Xbox One over regular Xbox One releases.

Already have Too Human on disc, but I'm happy to replace it with a digital copy, I can hand the disc over to someone I know who was given a 4GB system.

It isn't though, backwards compatibility has traditionally meant reading the original disc, not modified files.

Just realised something. Hope this doesn't mean an end to the 360 Games with Gold titles any time soon. Been using those to build up my library a bit.

I hope not as well, but I'd be perfectly happy to see titles again offered that aren't BC since the pool would be a little larger.
