A senior police officer who helped Grenfell victims will stand trial in October for possessing an indecent video image featuring a five year-old girl.

Chief superintendent Novlett Robyn Williams, 54, is accused of charged with having 'a moving image file of Category A severity'.

The officer, who was the Met Police public face for the Notting Hill Carnival and New Year's Eve celebrations, denies she ever saw the clip.

It was allegedly shared in a group WhatsApp message by her sister, Jennifer Hodge, 55 and brother-in-law, Dido Massivi, 61, in February last year.

Supt Williams also denies failing to report her sister after she allegedly sent the film.

All three defendants appeared at the Old Bailey ahead of their trial on October 28.

Judge Richard Marks, QC, told the court: 'The defendants can have bail on the same terms as before.

'You know now the the trial date, and you are aware I am sure that if you do not attend your trial on October 28 that in itself is an offence punishable by imprisonment.'

The 80,000-a-year Superintendent joined the Metropolitan Police in 2008 after beginning her career with Nottinghamshire Police

Supt Williams, of south London, denies one count of possession of an indecent photograph of a child.

She further denies one charge of corrupt or improper exercise of police powers and privileges by a constable.

Hodge, of Brent, northwest London, denies one count of distributing an indecent photograph of a child.

Massivi, also of Deacon Road, denies two counts of distributing an indecent photograph of a child.

He further denies one count of possessing an extreme pornographic image portraying an act of intercourse or oral sex with a dead or a live animal.

All three were bailed ahead of trial on October 28 of this year.
