Then people confuse him for an 'ultimate life form' that was tied to the President and Eggman blows up the moon. Then a silver hedgehog comes from the future and Sonic kisses a human princess. He also meets his past self at some point. In his last adventure he was tortured for several months. In between all of this he races with his friends.
