Buddhists are terrorizing and killing muslims in other countries so his attitude isn't surprising tbh

i get what he saying but conditions in those lands are simply pushing people away to where the grass is greener and power aint directly oppressing those without power.

I wonder why people might be fleeing oppressive third world countries.

I mean, if they fled their countries to escape violence, why would they go back to them if they can make a better life for themselves elsewhere?

So we take in every hard case until...what exactly. All 7.7 billion people live on a few small parts of the world because the rest of the world won't be better?

I mean, they botched it, but the current attitude toward immigration gives me retroactive respect for the Bush years' moves to regime change of shitty places. The rest of the world deserves to be nice too, but it won't get there by turning a blind eye to to the despots and cartels out there, and letting people effectively run away from home endlessly.

Then it went to defending George Bush, who is actually responsible for much of the destabilization in the Middle East we see today and has set Iraq back 100 years.

US foreign policy = labeling leaders you don't like or agree with as cartoonishly evil dictators then bombing them

They did it with Iraq and it was a regional disaster.
They did it with Libya and it was a regional disaster.
They tried to do it with Syria and it's a regional disaster.

I did say they botched it didn't I. I only praise the attitude (and only reluctantly at that as I'm not sure it was legitimate), not the results.

Actually, he fled Tibet to get away from the Communist Chinese decades ago and now lives in northern India with a bunch of other Tibetans.

Yeah, there just isn't enough room in our concentration camps to separate all the families.
