I watched some episodes of anime. If It's for My Daughter, I'd Even Defeat a Demon Lord had an okay first episode, looks like it'll be another cute show.

The Cells at Work OVA was fine. Equivalent in quality to the rest of the show at least. That episode could've used more Red Blood Cell imho

I also finally watched the last two episodes of Marchen Madchen. Ahh, memories. It was one of the first airing anime I watched, and so far it's the only one whose production fell apart so hard that the last two episodes were delayed for eight months. I was surprised by how much I remembered after more than a year and the conclusion was at least decent. Hazuki is still cute and the ED is still nice to listen to.

In trying to predict when part 8 will end I decided to look at total number of arcs per part instead of chapter number or page count since stardust Crusaders

Parts 3-6 All have between 26 to 28 arcs

Part 7 had 22 arcs

Part 8 just finished arc #20

I didnt feel Dr Stones style come through that Zoro chapter at all. It was a well done redrawing of the chapter but it definitely just felt like One Piece

well I think a lot of artists would have injected their own style into it, like the Toriko author or something ... or when Oda does this for other manga

that's kinda the point of doing this

It might be too early to be making any bold statements about the Wano arc as a whole, but as of episode three, I'm ready to say that the anime adaptation has beenand promises to remaina universal improvement on its source material. It's like the difference between reading a screenplay and watching a finished movie in terms of how much crucial texture and atmosphere doesn't exist on the page without the layers of visuals, sounds, and performances intended to compliment it. There's true adaptation happening, and it's all in the service of a crystal clear thematic endpoint.

But if Kubo just redrew it panel for panel it wouldn't be that way. It would still have Oda's pacing and writing with a skin of Kubo art.

Maybe you (Cly, not swordz), just want it to be more than a straight remake? Boichi's artstyle does capture a lot of the same energy as Oda's too.

I'm still gonna call him Legosi lol, I straight up just don't like the "sh" sound compared to "si" so I'm choosing to ignore it. Others can call him Legoshi and that's fine but I'm sticking with what I like.

His name in Japanese is definitely Legoshi. Si is just how Japanese people write Shi sometimes.

The only anime convention I've ever been to was like 15 years ago for an event for a TCG I used to play.

I guess I can't be too confident without having been to one, but I don't think they're for me unless there's a specific event at the convention that I'm interested in.

Even dubs pronounce names names.

It's not hard to put the stress on the third syllable of Midoriya and not the second. Wait bad example I think the second syllable is where you put the stress.

Sometimes western names get pronounced incorrectly in Japanese. Like anyone named Simon is pronounced sheemon. But I don't think that means English speakers should do that.

I would've been fine with them pronouncing it like "Simone" in the dub (since that's how the French people do it). Shimone is terrible.

There are some upsetting budget issues showing up in Cop Craft...or maybe it's just production issues in general. It's like a truck full of in-between frames got lost on the way to the studio or something, and all the action is just the power points of key frames.

I needed a new cute anime to watch so based off Mac's recommendation from months ago, I watched Hina Logic - from Luck & Logic. I've never seen the original Luck & Logic but maybe I'll get around to it someday, surely it can't be that bad.

Anyway, Hina Logic was pretty good! Lion and especially Mahiro were great, I never got tired of her expressions and explosive inventions. Most of the other characters were fun too. My only complaint is that Karin and Karen were underutilized, they should've at least had half an episode focusing on them or something. The whole transformation battle thing (a holdover from the more action-oriented Luck & Logic I'm guessing) also felt kind of pointless for the first half but they started doing neat things with it in the second half, so that was nice. Overall, it succeeded as a cute anime.
