I haven't received a Jury Duty paper in four years. I'm 26. I always throw them out. Will the court just issue a warrant for my arrest to answer while I haven't show up?

It's possible, but most courts won't go through all the trouble to do so. It takes time and money, and a lot of people skip out on jury duty. If you live in a larger city, the chances of getting a warrant are slimmer, due to the large population and the ease of having enough people on hand regardless.

That's completely insane. Arresting someone over an unreceived letter in the mail?

What county?

I've heard Nassau is a bitch about it and they do come and pick you up if you don't respond to their questionnaire before you're even selected. They send it certified after some point.

And this is one of the most populated counties in the US, with the 3rd highest property tax in the country.

The post office takes pictures of all letters that is to be delivered to your address every day (you can see them with Informed Delivery). All the court has to do to prove that it was not lost in the mail is simply find the picture of the summons letter.

I've only heard of one guy I know getting a sheriff sent to his house with a warrant, he then had to stay the day and have the judge sign off proof that he went. I got lucky last week and got dismissed over the phone.

Getting out of jury duty is crazy easy, you just have to make sure you get out of it and not just ignore it.

You probably wouldn't be arrested over a singular incident. Seems like it'd be easier to punish someone over repeatedly failing to show up
