It leaves me with this sense of anger and helplessness that I don't think I've had before. I can't fathom ending up in a situation like this just because you were being a mischievous kid and then getting 1) blamed for a heinous crime you had nothing to do with, 2) coerced into a confession with the promise of being able to go home afterward as a kid... And at that, 3) without legal counsel or parents present... Then 4) actually being found guilty because of those coerced confessions and spending years in prison and even more years outside of prison stuck in a box because of all this...
Holy shit man Honestly, fuck everyone who put them in that situation and the court system that went on flimsy/false evidence at best just to blame someone for the crime instead of doing an actual investigation... Especially when they had arrested the person responsible for it and didn't consider his MO as being linked to the case at all and let those dudes rot in prison. Fuck all of them. I told myself for a long time that I wouldn't watch this because I didn't think I had the nerve for it. I told myself I knew enough of the story, but I decided to watch it today.
