Or you can just be nice to the person and eventually they turn it around. If you actually think Corrik is as bad as he was 5 years ago, then I'm sorry but you're not a nice person at all. That guy has gone through a lot of garbage and has clearly done a ton of work on himself.

Like no one bothers thinking "hey maybe this person is going through a lot of horrible trash personally, maybe I should be nice and not make things worse".

I didn't think I was ever a bad person. I just literally joke around a lot and tease people as part of joking. Like, it is just my sense of humor.

I used to mess around and just make topics where I would say something about a user and usually say something off the wall ridiculous silly about them just playing around. It was never actually serious.

I mean, I guess it doesn't exactly show through the internet well. But, I mean, nobody even really seemed to hate me back then! I used to talk to Bane and Scarlet and Peaf and others all the time back in the day! It was like the day I started discussing politics and people realized I was a conservative that the hammer came down!

I mean, I dunno. It def seems that way tho!

Who knows. It doesn't really matter I guess. I am still the same person I have always been personality-wise. Life wise I have grown, but I don't see myself very much different at all!

If anything, I hide some of my personality because some don't seem to get it here.

I find it fun to be able to talk smack with someone over sports or games we like or during a game and so on. It is why I can take being talked shit on relatively well. Me and my friends do it to each other all the time. It is in fun.

It is why I took Steiner's first post berating me in my other topic as a joke. I assumed he was playing around with me!

I mean, I dunno. I seem to hear how hated I am, but I don't get it! I try to joke with yinz, donate to usually most of your benefits I am aware of, go online to watch people when they streamed together, got married together, and etc.

I get it is unwanted. Sure. But, I try to be there for yinz.

Hell, me and jcgamer used to be buds, used to I guess just because he would post world cup topics and I would come in and tease him saying geez u stink I won the world cup with that team! Lol. And, I never even played the game. I was just teasing him, and I would follow all his topics because they were cool.

would like to take this opportunity to just put out a general reminder that at the very beginning of the politics topic, american white nationalist lawmaker steve king argued that the only meaningful contributions to society in the global north were from white people, and corrik was like 'yes obviously this is true.' then corrik denounced black lives matter as being an explicitly more racist movement than blue/all lives matter. then he called gay and trans people unnatural. then he said gay and trans people shouldn't be in public. then he said children shouldn't be taught about gay and trans people. and then he remained this exact same person for the next three years. so like, to anyone offering up this sort of "but who's the real bad guy here" defense of corrik, know exactly what you're defending, and ask yourself if you believe these things as well, or if you believe this is disqualifying behaviour, and if not why.

Again, you are missing the point here, which is that these examples are what you get from a search of, what, years of content, thousands and thousands of messages, turning up only occasional examples.

You could find the same thing if you searched board 8 itself, right? Like, topics get made about those users ocasionally as well where similar comments get made. This isn't a discord exclusive thing.

So when you say you "don't get the point of stuff like this", what is it that you're not getting the point of? Because it's not like the discord was hosting weekly discussions to mock other users. It's just natural that at some point, those users will come up in conversation, because, well, they draw a lot of attention, and when they do, people are gonna make comments like those.

The community is built on the users. That's what a community is. It's people interacting with one another. By and large I like a lot of people. I shared my experiences with others as a way to be open about said experience. I try to be as open as possible about things because the only way for myself to improve myself and my relationships with others is to be notorious about how I feel so I can be corrected.

The behavior you don't like is a behavior built on hopeful self-improvement.

A lot of people have come and gone from this board. But the ones who stayed, some for well over a decade, sure as hell didn't just to talk about a gaming popularity contest. It's always been about the people. If you just want a place to talk about games and stats with like minded people, this board ain't it.

Almost all the new users realize that very quickly in the off season and are driven away. And every old user that left also left because of the people. Everyone we have left here is by definition people who still tolerate each other and find some weird joy and attachment in this same old thing that we're keeping alive for some reason.

This topic is itself about a (relatively) new user who quit for a decent amount of time, then came back and started right back up like nothing happened. And no one even blinked because we've seen it 100 times before. All of us reading this topic right now understand why, including you.

Not to mention people saying people are like cowards hiding on discord to insult people - I don't think a single person would not say these things to corrik or ulti on the board. They just can't. Besides being against the rules of the board, everyone knows about the mod pockets. I thought corrik at least would want everyone to follow the rules!

For what it's worth I constantly say it to or about Corrik, and my posts about ulti in those screenshots or anywhere else you find are all completely fair
