55 hour slow burn blind playthrough and then like 12 more fun/speedrun playthroughs.

The side content is kinda shitty but hunk was kinda fun to figure out.

Can't remember the last time I completed a single player game this many times in such a short period.

I finished the original in an hour and 52 mins.

My first no save no heal run I died after Ada threw me the rocket launcher Was much rage.

TBH, it is the biggest gripe i have with the game.
Which is in a way a testament to the high opinion i have of both the original and this version.

There's so much wrong with it that prevents itself from being as good as it could be. The scenario system in the original was infinitely better than the plain 2 stories they have in it, and Claire's story is noticeably less good than Leon's. The soundtrack is a whole bunch of nothing except for one or two standout tracks. Boss fights are -way- too lengthy.

It's a good game and I like it, but it pales in comparison to how tight the original was.

It was the most hyped I'd been for a game since Mass Effect 3, and it actually lived up to it (unlike ME3)

I agree TC, it's the best Resident Evil and a fantastic game

I have to disagree.

I mean I sorta get why the Scenarios being lame bugs people but in this day and age "Play the game 4 times to see the true plot" doesn't fly. People will just play it once and look up the rest on Youtube or not bother. Besides the scenarios weren't all that different in the original either.

Plus the controls, atmosphere and design are way better than the original.

Zombies are no longer a choice betwee losing health or losing ammo. You actually have decent tactics and thought at your disposal.

Only thing I think the Original beats it on is the opening and Leon and Claire interacting a little more (which they didn't do enough of in the original either)

Much of the game's fanbase on this site are people that played the original so would be far from their first....

Age old case of someone having a meltdown at differing opinions and have to make up things to make themselves feel better.

In any case, found the original RE2 amazing and feel the same about RE2make

on top of the 2nd scenario being like a 85% retread of the first they didn't even manage to keep the item/resource system intact where you either take an item or leave it for your partner during the 2nd run.

RE3 is gonna be awesome since it's just one single lengthy playthrough.
