I never owned a Wii, but I used the Wiimote on the Wii U.

I am glad that the Joycons are better than the Wiimote in almost every way (small, easy to use and aim in games like Splatoon 2 when detached, motion controls optional for most games, unlike the Joycon's intended purpose for the Wii and Wii U games compatible with it, and no wire tethering both parts of the controller together, and no usage of AA batteries).

Wiimotes feel primitive.

The only thing I dislike about the joycons is that they feel a bit too small when using it as a single joycon and that L/R kinda suck to get to without the strips of plastic for the top.

Theres a little small, but I guess they cant be perfect... They are really neat, though. I like them...

Playing Super Mario Galaxy for the first time (I never owned a Wii, and got the Wiimote, Nunchuck, and Wii Motion Plus adapter about a year after I got my Wii U).

Graphically game looks like ass (which is not surprising since it's a Wii game, and the Wii was barely any more powerful than a Gamecube, and also not surprising that a 480p title is being displayed on a 4K monitor).

Good game though, but it could have definitely used a Switch port.

I am getting more used to it. These joycons are my sister's which she gave to me about 6 years ago. I mostly used these in Metroid Prime Trilogy and Pikmin 3, Nintendo Land and a little bit of Wii Sports Club (and I needed to buy the Wiimotion Plus adapter at the bottom to play most games). Still doesn't shake the fact that these are unnatural.

The nunchuck, it only has a stick that doesn't even click in, an awkward shape with no buttons beneath it, and two shoulder buttons, while the Wiimote has a weird D-pad, and buttons placed randomly it seems like. It's strange holding two completely chunks of plastic that doesn't even feel natural.

At least the Joycons feel completely natural, even when they are separated (and that is what the Wii should have done, instead of putting a TV remote and a turd like thing with a stick). After both Mario Galaxy games, I might want to get Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

Still kinda wish there was a proper D-Pad. I realise why they had to do it that way to complete their vision I guess

There is, but only if you buy an overpriced standard controller, get a cheap and barely functional third-party controller that does not have HD Rumble, is not compatible with the grip, and sometimes cannot be used wirelessly, or if you buy the world's most useless console revision ever.

The Switch Lite will have a proper D-Pad. Would be nice if they'd make a joy con with that

The Switch Lite is a waste of plastic. A handheld-only Switch that is not only slightly smaller than the normal one, but removes most of its features (No TV support, no HD Rumble, no TV or tabletop mode, no Nintendo Labo which is geared towards children which the Lite can never support, and same faulty thumbsticks that cannot be replaced without sending in the entire system).

The Switch Pro will likely be a cheaper TV-only model, which also removes most of its features.

I want the switch lite because I want a legit handheld, if I want to play on the tv I'll play my One/360

The answer is simple. Just play with the Switch undocked. If you decide to play on TV, dock it. The dock also charges the system and the Joycons when connected to it. Undocked, it as a kickstand. If you want to play a game that uses or benefits from split joycons (such as shooters like Splatoon 2, Warframe, Doom 2016, as well as an easy way to play most multiplayer games locally), you can't do that with a Switch Lite without buying two more controllers, a separate controller charging device, AND something to stand the Switch Lite up (since it has no kickstand).

Save yourself a headache and get a real Switch,

All I want is Pokemon and Smash bros and maybe Skyrim, I don't see how I can't play those just fine on a switch lite

I much prefer just a normal control pad. Then again I also want a normal console from Nintendo again. I doubt that'll ever happen but I suppose the Switch is the closest they have got so far since the WII.

I think the reason for no D-pad is because of how you can use the joycons...

True. If you're going to buy the switch lite and then a pair of $70-$90 joycons, that's like $270-$290. You might as well get the $300 switch...

Though, if Muscles is sure he won't use it for anything else, I guess he could go with the switch lite. Like I said, it's not for me. But options are good. That being said, while having the option to get a switch lite it good, the switch lite takes away a bunch of options...
