I like food and eating as much as the next person but real talk cooking sucks.

Side note I am also a pretty lousy cook but even if I weren't I still can't wrap my head around actually enjoying doing it.

Cooking is fun, washing dishes and prep work is the pain.

I enjoy cooking because I can make an awesome dinner that's as good as something from a restaurant for a fraction of the price. Plus women dig it

growing up we ate the same 5 to 10 things all the time, my gf was the same way until i started doing all the cooking.

It's great for discovering brand new flavors you've never experienced before. It's also great for making things cheaply. So many pasta dishes become inferior when you learn how to properly make sauces. I make a beast Alfredo Pasta that people beg for and much cheaper than what you can buy at restaurants. Making pizza is a cinch with a stand mixer, although honestly I gotta work on my dough game. Baking is fun and showing new worlds and foods to others is pretty fun. It's awesome when you surprise someone who goes "I HATE FLAN" and go you haven't tried MY flan, and they eat it and realize the whole time they've had garbage foods. THAT feels good. Convincing others through your food to change their mind is awesome.

Hell I myself was a veggie hater all my life until I realized my mom just made it crappily. Now I happily eat tomatoes, broccoli all this stuff I used to hate and eat it just fine because it was prepared/cooked well.

I'm sure a lot of people's hatred of certain foods just stems from poorly made versions of that food.

I tried cooking. I enjoyed it the first 6 months, even though it was mostly poached salmon and boiled chicken breast. Afterwards I found it a chore.
