Specifically Amazon warehouse employees.

The job is unskilled labor, comprising of walking and picking up packages. If Amazon is not a good choice, why not go for another similar unskilled labor job, like FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc.?

The question is not "are there are better companies out there?"

The question is "should we be okay with Amazon's treatment of its employees?"

What a lot of people don't realize is that most warehouse work is almost if not just as bad or even worse than Amazon.

Meh. They provide at least $15/hr for unskilled labor; doesn't sound too bad.

The pay might not be that bad.

What about the rest?

I'm sure amazon knows the logistics better than I do but what I've heard just sounds inefficient. The John Oliver piece had employees talking about having to go across the entire warehouse to grab a single item

IIRC, Amazon doesn't organize their stuff; they just dump everything where they have space and keep track of it, so when it's needed, robots or people go get it.

For me the issue is more about them trying to make you quit or given a reason to fire you before they have to pay you more. I know I would be able to do that job really, really well because I love moving and walking, but that wouldn't matter if they're just looking for reason to fire you before you get a raise
