Walmart, local grocery stores, etc etc.. don't matter where I'm at. I've been seeing a lot of people driving those handicapped driving carts and these people don't even look handicapped or hurt. A lot of them look young and pretty healthy, very capable. I mean it's none of my business but I can't help but judge these people very harshly in my mind.

I see teenagers doing it a lot. Like theres a group of them. Sometimes theyre taking turns driving it.

I think they know that employees arent allowed to question if use of their motorized carts is necessary.

I mean there's usually a cop or some form of security, though. Shouldn't they be questioning those questionable people?

There are physical disabilities that can hit in your 20s-30s, so it's not impossible.

I think its literally against the law.

People also cant question you about a service animal.

Damn so you're saying anyone can use those driving carts without question and we would not get in trouble?

This is true. I got sick at 36. Also, it should be noted that I walk with a cane (sometimes two canes), and I don't use the carts, partially out of pride and stubbornness, partially because they are all in use, often by groups of teenagers, as someone posted above.

Yeah, I used a walker or a cane.

Mostly out of stubborn pride, even though it was hell sometimes. I tried one of those stupid things at Costco once and decided it was better to suffer.

I always get so paranoid people think I'm faking, cuz I'm a thin person in my early 20's who needs a motor wheelchair to get around. IMO it's best to mind your own business unless it looked like they're taking resources for someone who actually needs it more.

Its stupid they have them to begin with, why dont these ppl bring their own wheelchair?

Are the ppl who are immobile supposed to crawl into the store until they find a powered chair?

I'm told to use them because of my kidney failure even though I'm only 29 and probably the most mobile person at the dialysis center.

I don't use them though because my mom had MS since I was like 3 and they were never around for her when she needed them.

entirely possible someone is able to drive to the store and walk the short distance in, but isn't able to walk around the whole store getting groceries. Needing wheelchair doesn't mean your legs dont function at all.

Also a lot of people who need wheelchairs can't afford them lol. Most insurances only cover one if you can't get around your own home without it
