I must be old cause I hear this fad about cargo shorts being a bad fashion choice and I think they look good and who the fuck doesn't like extra pockets?

It's not that it necessarily looks bad it's just that it takes no effort. Assuming you've got reasonable shoes on, you can wear pretty much anything with them and they'll look "fine." It gives off a vibe of laziness, or even fear, because it doesn't take much effort to match your clothing. That and they became the default for nerds in the summer, a lot of people will end up looking the same without coordinating.

Jeans are pretty low effort too. They don't quite have that stigma for whatever reason, but you will probably have some people judging you the same way

I'm wearing tan shorts right now but not cargo. Has like one extra pocket that almost seems designed for a smart phone as its about the perfect size for one.

I'm not even sure if ive ever owned tan cargo shorts. I know ive had cargo shorts before though. But until well into adulthood I rarely if ever would wear shorts.
