She just seems... iconic? Idk.

Anyways Ive watched the original game. People werent lying when they said the story is better. However the actual gameplay and map of the remake is much better. As is, you know, the voice acting (though I have seen people complain about it) and graphics.

You think the story is better in the original? The way the scenarios were handled was better, I can agree with that. But I really liked how much more fleshed out the supporting characters were in the remake. In the original they were barely characters really.

Maybe I should rephrase that... I think its better that they tried to make the scenarios make sense with each other, and Leon and Claire interact more than at the beginning and end of the game. The story is better in the remake but Id like for there to be a true canon. Also characters like Annette are better in the remake too

So I learned last night that the knife does more damage if you run the game at a higher FPS. Kinda like how running RE4 at higher FPS makes enemies more aggressive; its a real odd thing to learn.

In the case with the knife, its because more hits are registered with the higher frame rate

Yes, makes the knife much more effective on high-end PCs (but they lose durability faster too). Knife is still pretty darn effective against G1 and Lickers even on the base PS4 and X1.

So what did you think of Tyrant? I found when I was being stalked by him the first few times some of the most intense experiences in gaming in recent memory. He still surprises me sometimes.

I felt like he was more of a threat in Leon A than Claire B. Not just due to inexperience. I feel like he's just around more in that scenario but maybe not.

I definitely find Tyrant easier to deal with as Claire. Leon has to walk through that west hallway filled with Lickers and zombies to get into the records room, that hall sucks. Although it is possible for Leon to kill everything beforehand, he doesnt have a good answer to Lickers like Claire does with her flame grenades.

I find Claires scenarios generally easier overall. Her weapons arent as conventional but are pretty balanced and effective.

Oh shit I forgot about that. I seriously thought I was going to get jumped when I exterminated Plant 43 like I did with Leon.

Also something else I learned from watching the GDQ speedrun... Claire runs faster when shes in Caution health

Anyways I haven't really had the time to sit down and beat the game in one session this week. I'm not really sure how Hardcore will go for me and I don't want the reason I lose the run to be because I had to stop playing and use an ink ribbon.

Theres quite a lot of ink ribbons to be found, and there are usually a couple right next to the typewriters.

Ah, okay. Well if youre going for S+ your sessions between saves should only be 30-40 minutes. I like to save after the basement (before Tyrant shows up), in the sewer control room before G-Adult area, and before G3.

I have three kids and only play a bit in the evenings so if I can do it Im sure you can :) That being said you might want to become a bit familiar with Hardcore before going for S+.
