I'm digging the Sami as Nakamuras mouthpiece stuff so far. If they let Nak just go on a tear defending the belt a couple months with Zayn just talking mad shit the whole time it would be cool.
Then there's the part of me that sees Miz at Clash of Champions just outright getting the title clean and Sami/Shin dissolve because its WWE why not.

As far as Smackdown goes Sami + Nakamura and the handling of Buddy Murphy so far have both been excellent.

Heck if this whole stupid ass Roman getting run over storyline just exists to make Buddy Murphy relevant I give it a thumbs up.

So far in terms of notable positive differences in the shows I give the nod to Bischoff over Heyman. Can't really say I've seen much of interest on Raw lately aside from maybe heel Sasha.

I feel like this is a good thing and if it goes well they should keep it for future years. Waiting longer in the year for the G1 will suck, but I HATE the length of time between the end of it and WK.

But that's largely because his stupid bobbing during his babyface entrance and hipster hat really make me want to punch him in the face at all times

Just woke up from a dream, need to share quickly before it fades.

The tail end of my dream involved someone on here amking a case for Wade Barrett to return and fight for the US, IC, or, uh, some weird made up title, using a video compilation of things that likely did not happen because they involved attacking Daniel Bryan and the Undertaker in a backyard of some sort and trying to take Undertaker's spot as Daniel's opponent. Lots of slip-and-slide style takedowns.

So, my thoughts were, as I was getting ready to post, about how amazing Barrett would be in the 24/7 title hunt. He would add more layers to the fights, some legitimacy to some of the attacks (especially using footage from the video since that's all out of ring stellar action) like hitting the Bullhammer out of nowhere instead of just constant roll-ups, and even incorporate his Bad News Barrett to the stylings.

Hell, helping Drake Maverick out against Truth as his heavy, Drake finally getting ready and able to consummate, and then Barrett just pops up and for the first time in years he says, "I'm afraid I've got some Bad News," and goes full 24/7 heel mode would be insanely good. And SO MUCH better than Elias' role as third man.

No it's more like trying to establish yourself as a WWE counter culture then putting your world title on a guy who was there for like 18 years rings really really hollow and that they have the same fear in establishing stars that WWE does.

Why not trust Hangman Page? He would be a made man, and could always fall back on "first ever AEW world champ" whenever he needs credibility down the road.

Meanwhile you give a huge milestone to a guy who absolutely doesn't need it.

TNA pulled the trigger on Styles in the first TNA main event. But they could instead have had Jerry Lynn win that main event nefariously and have Styles chase him.

This isn't done. The thrill of this will be in the chase, be it Page or someone else.
