I'd say Witcher 3 and Horizon Zero Dawn definitely have a place on my list....beyond that, it'd take some thought.

I haven't really thought about it.

The tail end of the decade has been great for 2/2.5D games at least, with Hollow Knight, Mega Man 11, Ritual of the Night, etc. HK probably deserves the spot out of those.

BotW will probably be on a lot of lists, whatever we all think about it.

Assuming we're going 2010-2019 (inb4arguments), even games like Skyrim, Red Dead Redemption and Super Mario Galaxy 2 are in I think.

TW3 and GTAV are the other big beasts obviously.

My personal list probably wouldn't include all these though. The aforementioned 2D games are more up my street.

As for games yet to release this year, I'm looking forward to The Outer Worlds. Probably won't quite be GotD material though.

Indie games blew up so fast and so far that I can barely choose a top 20. It's been too good.

I dunno... GTA V or Witcher 3 maybe. Mario Galaxy 2 would be in the top 10, certainly.

uhm yakuza games and shenmue 3 i guess.

end of ps3 and whole ps4 gen has been pretty shit to ongoing gamers. might have wowed the new kids entering into gaming.
