I thought that CM2 could be an easy way for them to backdoor mutants into the MCU. Show Carol as this popular hero who gets attacked and drained by Rogue. That ties into the 'anyone could be one of THEM' anti-mutant paranoia, then have Carol recovering for part of the movie with Maria & Monica.

I feel that Rogue arc won't work with current Captain Marvel. Now, give Captain Marvel a Ms. Marvel partner and then have that Rogue arc!
