Why? Why do this? You cant afford to have children? Is that why you leave them in the car

You hate them now? Is that why you kill them? They have a right to grow up and be BETTER THAN YOU

Doesn't every state have those laws where you can just drop infants off at a Fire/Police station no questions asked at this point?

Pretty much. Also, so many rich Americans would easily adopt in a heartbeat.

My child's doctor adopted 7 kids.

It's easier than you'd think, if you're used to a daily routine and something throws it off just a little bit.

You have to ask yourself why they make laws, Public Service Announcements, and the like, that are all related to kids being left in the backseat.

IIRC, Lawmakers are even devising a bill to get car companies to make some function/feature available that would alert the driver that someone/thing (cause I don't see why a pet dog or cat won't trigger it as well) is in the backseat.

This. I wasnt convinced until I read a similar article (or maybe it was the same one?). Its awful and one of the most tragic accidents a person can commit, but its an accident nonetheless.

You develop a routine. Something happens that throws off the routine and your whole day is fucked. For example. Let's say Sunday morning you go to church and then drop off your kids at soccer. While they're at soccer, you have several weekly errands that take approximately 4 hours to complete. They include things such as picking up prescription drugs, dry cleaning, and depositing some checks in the bank. When that's done, you pick up your kids from soccer and drive home. Once you're home, you're home for the rest of the day.

Now let's say that 2 hours into your errands your car breaks down you push it to a mechanic and are fucking exhausted. Your kids won't be out of soccer for another 90 minutes so you call an Uber and go home. While home, the mechanic calls and says your car will be ready in about 3 hours. Great, now your mind is already in "I'm home" mode, and the next thing you need to do is pick up your car.

But that basically leaves your kids stranded at soccer for 2 hours.

Most likely your kids will call and be like "what the fuck dad?" But toddlers can't really do that. It's not as hard of a mistake to make as people think especially if you enter a period of expected privacy and are intentionally trying to kill time for a longer event.

This is not a defense of roasting babies in a car, but not everyone who does this set out with the mindset to murder their kids. Legitimate accidents do happen.

I'm not saying he did it intentionally. I'm saying its absurd to me that he seemingly strapped them into his car just minutes earlier, drove to work and just forgot about them. I can KINDA get it, if you're going to the store, you park and go in shopping and forget them there....even that is odd to me but it makes more sense than the scenario in this story.

To those making excuses use common sense.

Going by the 3 kids ages they all had to be on a strap chair and a booster seat for the oldest. Going by the ages once again all the kids had to be in the back not in the passenger side. It's a regular 5 seater car. The guy had to remove the 3rd kid and seen the twins at one point.....unless he had the 3rd kid in front then that means he was breaking the law....

Have you ever driven somewhere and completely forgot the drive? The brain on autopilot is efficient but can do things like that. Living with what he did is more than punishment enough.

Im not an expert on psychology but I have kids and my dad left me in the car once. Theres no excuse for this but an accident is an accident.
