Single player is like a regular linear shooter, though it does have space combat levels (that are way too short imo).
It's actually a fairly competent story that focuses on one character between Episodes 6 and 7. It does switch it up about halfway through and start making you play as other characters, which I think helps to serve as a sort of tutorial for their abilities and stuff for online play.
