This is mostly just for me venting, I guess? I have no interest in politics, I know voting is pretty much meaningless, so I'm not looking to even debate that sorta stuff.

I just got a fear of it. It's a scary thought. And I don't know what I do or what TO do. I'm legitimately scared of the idea of it alone. Or losing someone to it. And I can't exactly hermit myself or anything, I'm not that financially capable for that at this moment in time lol. I hate having to even think this way, and I know there's probably a million things to be more concerned about, but the thought passes in my mind and it just elicits fear. I'm probably stupid enough to try and charge them or something, or maybe I'd cower in fear and hide...I don't know. Idk what to think, or if I should even be considering this sorta stuff.

I loved living in America, honestly, I live in SoCal and my god are the beaches beautiful. Hold so many good memories for me in California. But for the first time in years I wanna move. Maybe to Canada or something, idk. But that wouldn't be years down the line and I don't like maple syrup(jokes hur hur), Idk what Canada is like. What I should be worried about...

Idk. I'm just scared, not enough to disable me from doing activities or going out but enough that I'm up at 3AM thinking about it lol.

One's feelings don't change reality. The reality is, TC has a much better chance of dying in a car crash on his way to work today than being shot. Crimes, shootings, and overall violence have been in a sharp decline over the past quarter century or so.

These things are horrific, but they get so much attention when they happen, that people stop being reasonable because they're inundated by the news cycle.

We can run the numbers, odds, and percentages of mass shootings in our heads all we want, and while they do factually hold weight, it still happens.

I mean, most of us fear getting struck by lightning, right? Even if the odds of actually getting hit are statistical zeroes, we still hold it in the back of our minds.

Like I said, it was 3AM when I wrote it.

By that I meant more the fear suddenly hit me fairly revently and began creeping up on me, getting worse in a slowing, almost snail's pace. About a week ago I wasn't super worried about it. But I guess idle minds and all? No need to go grammar nazi on me, bro.

I never watch the news, too. I get updated by the internet or something. I hate negativity in my life because I generally have an overactive mind, so...I just keep away from it all. Yet I still heard about these shootings and it just finally has been getting to me.

honestly i get this feeling a little bit now too. the last time i went to a concert i was in this massive crowd of people and i thought how easy it would have been for a shooter to sneak in a gun and open fire on the crowd, everyone would be pretty much completely helpless. it really fucked me up for a minute

I developed something similar after the Dayton Ohio shootings. I've come to conclude that there is no safe place to be right now except home. I'm sure everyone is putting their life in danger when going out, but all I'm going to be doing now is going in between only work and home until they can figure out how to stop these fucking lunatics.

Also, this post of his is not as insightful as it first appears. Medical errors are medical ERRORS. Granted there are a lot of doctors that should lose their jobs for malpractice, that doesn't mean that all 500 deaths were due to idiot doctor's misdiagnosing, or just deciding to do unnecessary surgeries.

Influenza is a virus and we have very little control over who it is going to effect annually, I would expect someone with a basic understanding of biology to come to terms with this.

Suicide is influenced by our society and things we can work on, I will give him that.

Car ACCIDENTS, this is the same as medical errors.

Then 40 via homicides to handguns, so he's bringing up that we're torn up about shootings again? Or, is he trying to point out that shootings go on all the time and to get with the times and get used to it?

I feel like Neil came up with this to impress a bunch of dumb relatives when he was visiting his brother Mike Tyson and just decided to post it on the internet to see who else would like it. It's not nearly as insightful or mind blowing as it appears at first.
