For the longest time, I thought that people were eating a pig's butt.

"Butt" means a lot more things than just "ass". Pork butt has an entirely different etymology.

If they weren't called butts then Cow and Chicken would've had to eat something else for a cheap laugh.

I know chicken-butt is used to refer to a certain cut (in Dutch atleast), never heard of Pork's butt, be it in English or any other language.

I assumed it was just they assumed there was no difference in human milk and cow milk. That and keeping the cows spitting babies out is food production and might as well use everything the cow has to offer.

Why would anyone assume that, though, when for most of human history humans have generally assumed there is a qualitative difference between humans and animals?

The idea that humans are just animals ourselves, or that we evolved from other animals, is relatively modern. And we've been drinking it for 10000 years.

A fair amount of evidence suggests that production of cows for consumption actually came after domestication for the purposes of dairy production. The logic was closer to, "Well, we're milking these things anyway, we might as well eat them as well."

Eh they dont teach these things in history and oddly ffa didnt bring it up either.

Humans thinking they are different than animals I assumed was purely from a we are superior cause we are much smarter standpoint. Well the whole created in gods image thing too I guess. Doesnt mean milk itself had to be different. Not saying im right just explaining my assumption.
