I work at a college, and I've seen staff and faculty with tattoos, and people were cool with or indifferent to them.

and my cousin's a doctor, and he's had no issues with his tattoo.

but I live in California, so idk.

Depends on what state, city, etc. You're in. I know some places are still against them, most aren't though.

Its not about whether you are capable of doing the job, its about looking respectable and professional as a representative of your employer. A business is completely justified in not wanting people covered in tattoos representing them if thats their choice.

Very, very, very few places will disqualify someone for tats these days.

Most places wont care about something small as long as it is tasteful.

I work in medical. No Face tattoos, visible arm / neck tattoos are fine to a degree, anything excessive or inappropriate requires sleeves to cover up. Piercings are mostly fine, noses have to be small studs, spacers are frowned on, eye brows / lips are typically a no.

Just by the attitude o f the first post and creating a "shit list" seems like you are just a bit more un presentable just by demeanor alone.

If you want a good job you need to be presentable. Up to you to meet a companies standards, not the other way around.

A lot of jobs care. I had a guy walk in earlier this year with a tattoo on his face. I wanted to say "get out" as soon as he walked in but I'm required to give him an "honest" interview. I knew from the get go he wasn't getting the job but there I was wasting 20 minutes of my time because I had to.

I work for big pharma and I have a neck tattoo, hand tattoos, etc.

Define tatts are we talking something that can be seen outside of a long sleeve shirt or any tattoos at all?

I think my job says that you can't have any/a lot of visible tattoos if you work with clients in person.

I also work for a pharma company and no one cares if you have tattoos anywhere else.
