In the span of one day I saw:

- siblings (between 7-10ish) tackling each other in the grocery store

- kids jumping on school furniture during open house

- kids arguing loudly at a sit down restaurant

And in every situation, the parents noticed and said nothing.

Kind of this.

A lot of my friends don't seem to know how to discipline their children, especially in public.

I'm a teacher and I've heard multiple parents say something like "I love events like this [in regards to school sponsored event with games and shit] because we can just let the teachers worry about the kids."

Most people don't want to actually parent until they're confronted by something they can't ignore.

This and it's a real shame.
