When I was in high school, I used to play a lot of Rock Band with my cousins and two very dear friends (one of which was Unquestionable lol). That was my favorite time in my life. I was having so much fun with it, but then the two friends started fighting and my one cousin went to jail and life went on. I've always wanted to get back into playing it, but the Xbox 360 all the data is on is getting on in years and doesn't always work right. Plus, the only Stratocaster we have is broken, the other one belongs to my cousin who went to jail, the microphone is broken, and the drums are in storage at Unquestionable's parents' house and that's my least favorite instrument. He also has the keyboard, but that's only compatible with Rock Band 3. Long story short, it's not the easiest game to fire up. But the department store I work at is moving so they're having a storewide clearance sale and, for whatever reason, we had a single copy of one of the Rock Band Track Packs for PS2. I thought, "Yeah, I can work with this". Unquestionable had two Guitar Hero guitars because he has Guitar Hero 1 and 2 on PS2 so it wouldn't be a big investment. I got the game for, like, $2.50, had him pick up his guitars, and played around with the Track Pack. Only 20 songs, but fun to get back into practice with. Well, he got interested too so we went to this game shop that sells old games and picked up a copy of Rock Band and Rock Band 2 for PS2 for real cheap. It was much cheaper than buying the instruments for 360 and just as fun. I wanted to get a Multitap Adapter, but they only had the ones that are compatible with the original PS2 and mine is a Slim, but we don't have the microphone or drums for PS2 nor more than two people to play so we'll put that on the backburner for now. Now we've been playing Guitar Hero and Rock Band together and it's been hella fun! Did you guys ever play Rock Band or Guitar Hero with friends back in the day? Tell me your fun stories, CE!

tl;dr I loved Rock Band when I was younger, got back into it. It's so much fun to play, even with only two players.

I'm glad there was a period of time during the PS3 that I decided to export every possible Rock Band game into Rock Band 3.

When they released 4 I have a bunch of music that you literally can't get anymore due to that.

I got back into it briefly last year. I was able to transfer most of the songs that I had built up over the years. I wasn't able to find a reasonably-priced drum set though, so my interest quickly waned.

I used to play a lot of RB online, if I found three other good players we'd be able to get towards the top of the Xbox 360 leaderboards (like top 10).

For a hot second I had a few top 5 Expert Pro Piano top scores in RB3. It helps that I'm a pianist irl lol.

I truly miss the fucking hysteria GH2 generated back in the day. I blame Activision for running the rhythm genre into the ground. Harmonix was making quality games but Activision flooded the market with cheap shitty games and spinoffs and took Harmonix down with them.

Say, does anybody have a recommendation for calibrations settings for an HD TV so there's no lag?

You mean bass? Some songs have really hard bass that includes the orange fret... I think...

Roommates and I have Rock Band for our living room and we'll get 4 members when people come over and it's a great time.

I play expert drums and guitar so I always pick the hard songs that nobody likes lol

I was big into Rock Band 1 & 2 for the Wii, then later FoFix, but then my guitar controller peripherals died right around the same time the fad died.

I could only do the orange fret on songs that had 2 or fewer, those were the bonus songs in GH2 that had them even on Medium.

too bad there wasn't a medium-hard difficulty using the 4 frets.
