Yeah generally the ones who are disapproved and laughed at are the overly jacked goons who scream like psychos and do weird and extremely incorrect and dangerous "exercises" to show off how in shape they are.

At my gym the ellipticals are right up against the front windows. I used to work overnights so on my days off I'd go in at 1am because I was up and having the gym to yourself is great. One time this car full of teenagers stopped in front of me and started trying to mess with me as I was on the elliptical. I hopped off and gave them the full moon. Pants down, bent over so far that my nuts touched the glass, let alone my butt. They drove away, but I was all sweaty so my butt and nut print stayed on the window for like a month before somebody cleaned the glass. I wonder if anyone figured out what it was.

the best fallacy is the douchey meathead. i stopped going to the gym a few years back, but I went about 4/5 days per week for 15 years and got to know a lot of guys/girls there; every meathead was super friendly and wanted to help you get better.

This is really overblown about Planet Fitness

I've been a member at 5 different locations. Every one of them had super ripped dudes and very hot women doing all manner of things, and no one ever once made a fuss. I'm sure it has happened, because there are headcase douchebags of one persuasion or another at every gym in the country, but it's described as the norm when it's anything but.
